About Smt Hemalatha Ramachandran
A Professional Performer, Musician, Teacher and Choreographer
Smt Hemalatha Ramachandran is an accomplished Bharathanatyam artiste, Performer, choreographer and teacher. She started her initial training from the age of five under the tutelage of Smt Jayalakshmi Arunachalam and then from KalaiMamani Dr. SarswathiSundersan.
Smt Hemalatha has given nearly 300 dance recitals all over India and abroad. She has participatedi n 30 Doordarshan shows. She took part along with her daughter Anandhita in Raj TV Reality Show (Mother and Daughter classical dance show) and won the title” AshirwadAbhinaya” and cash price of Rs 1 lakh.
Smt Hemalatha is a Kuchpudi dancer as well with training from Kalaimamani Sri M V N Murthy. She has performed in number of Kuchipudi dance recitals also.
Smt Hemalatha has diploma in Carnatic Music from Teachers Training College, Music Academy. She has also done in MA in Dance from KalaiKaveri, Trichy.
Smt Hemalatha has won number of prizes in Dance competitions. The first prize from Tamil Isai Mandram and Tamilnadu Government “Iyal Isai NatakaMandram” award to perform at different places are the significant numbers to be mentioned.
Smt Hemalatha is the Director of BharathaKalalayam Dance School established since 1994. The students of the dance school numbering over 100 students has given more than 500 programmes . Apart from this 101 students have done their Salangai Pooja and 31 students have done their Arangetrams.
